Application
Not only must a teacher be excellent in their field as musicians and performers, but they must also be able to be personable with the community and especially parents. In Critical Pedagogy we discussed how to interact with both administrators and parents.
When creating lesson plans, the National Standards must be kept in mind because schools and parents are looking for teachers to honor the curriculum to be the most beneficial outcome for the students.
In the seminar for Leadership in the Arts, we discussed the concept of 'networking' in the administration aspect of the arts. As an educator, it is important to keep good relationships with outside professionals to possibly bring even more benefits to the students, such as guest presenters and special concerts for the music department.
