Interpretation

Application
Since the beginning of Critical Pedagogy I, I have been exposed to the process of writing lesson plans and analyzing how to approach introducing new concepts. These lesson plans include the goals of achieving teaching standards while creating an atmosphere in which the student can synthesize old information with new learning.
As a current teacher, I am always needing to find innovative ways to help my piano tutees learn their new music. In addition to piano tutoring and lesson plan writing in Music Education courses such as Critical Pedagogy classes, Piano Pedagogy classes require me to also learn how to introduce new repertoire and musical concepts.
As a teacher at the Yocum Institute for Arts Education, I needed to create lesson outlines to give my young students a direction in their learning while still being flexible to explore what interested them most.
